2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG

German car fans were expecting to see the updated C63 AMG this March, at the Geneva Motor Show, but photos leaked this week of the new sedan and wagon, providing a peek at what lays ahead for the upcoming C series rocket. The main exterior changes are to the fascia; the C63 AMG gets SL series-inspired headlamps, with Audi-esque LED light-piping. LEDs also make their way to the tail lamps, and the team also re-designed the 18-inch wheels, with red brake calipers grabbing the 14.2-inch front discs. Under the hood, the biggest difference is that top speed will no longer be limited to 155 mph; the 2012 C63 AMG, with the performance Development Package, will top out at 174 mph. AMG has developed a new 5.5-liter biturbo mill, but the C63 keeps 6.2-liter V8, so output remains at 451 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. Some early reaction is mixed about the new fascia design, but all told, the new C63 is yet another gift to MB fans. Check out the gallery after the jump, of both the sedan and the wagon.

The 2011 Mercedes-Benz CL550 comes with the latest technology while providing a comfortable ride, but the car needs a better approach to driving at low speeds. The 2011 Mercedes Benz CL550 4Matic Coupe Luxury Sport Sedan CL-Class has been unveiled and Stuttgart’s large coupe gets some nice exterior and interior upgrades. However the most significant changes come under the hood with the new 2011 CL550 getting a new 4.6L V8 twin-turbo making 429-hp and a maximum torque of 516 lb-ft. The out going model made 382-hp and a peak torque of 391 lb-ft. Even with that increase in power, fuel-economy has been improved by 10-15 percent. Born out of the 2010 LA Auto Show’s Los Angeles Design Challenge, in which automotive designers are given free range to envision the future of transportation, the Biome is meant to blend seamlessly into the planet’s ecosystem. That means all components of the 2010 Mercedes-Benz Sport Cars Biome Concept car are “grown” organically, and it emits pure oxygen and is fully compostable at the end of its service life.

The basis for the Biome Concept is a vehicle that "grows in a completely organic environment from seeds sown in a nursery." Not only that, but it's powered by a combination of the sun and a chemical bond from an imaginary liquid dubbed BioNectar4534. It's all natural, all organic and all science fiction.

"As the inventor of the motor car, we wanted to illustrate the vision of the perfect vehicle of the future, which is created and functions in complete symbiosis with nature. The Mercedes-Benz BIOME is a natural technology hybrid, and forms part of our earth's ecosystem. It grows and thrives like the leaves on a tree" according to Hubert Lee, Head of the Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design Studios in Carlsbad.

This year the competition had called for the creation of a vision of a safe and comfortable 2+2 compact car featuring good handling and a first-class design, and weighing only 1,000 lbs (around 454 kg/kerb weight).

The 2010 Mercedes-Benz Sport Cars Biome Concept symbiosis vehicle is made from an ultralight material called BioFibre and tips the scales at just 875.5 lbs (around 394 kg). This material is significantly lighter than metal or plastic, yet more robust than steel. BioFibre is grown from proprietary DNA in the Mercedes-Benz nursery, where it collects energy from the sun and stores it in a liquid chemical bond called BioNectar4534.

The 2010 Mercedes-Benz Sport Cars Biome Concept is powered by BioNectar4534, which is stored in the BioFibre material of the chassis, interior, and wheels. In addition, Mercedes-Benz has developed a technology to equip trees with special receptors which can collect the excess solar energy and turn it into BioNectar4534. This creates a direct link with nature's energy sources and acts as an incentive to cover mobility energy requirements through more trees and at the same time maintain natural resources.

The Los Angeles Design Challenge is part of the Design Los Angeles conference, taking place from 17 to 18 November 2010 as part of the Los Angeles Auto Show.

After stunning Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG supercar was revealed, electric version in the future. The all-electric Mercedes-Benz AMG E-Cell SLS prototype has slightly less power than its gas-powered siblings. The E-Cell has a capacity of probably the coolest name for a painting to date – AMG Lumilectric mango.

Mercedes-AMG is accepting the challenges of motoring of the future: the SLS AMG E-CELL is evidence of the state-of-the-art development of an exciting super sports car featuring a zero-emission high-tech drive. Boasting a power output of 392 kW and 880 Nm of torque, the technology vehicle from AMG is able to offer exceptional performance.

The E-Cell features a lithium-ion polymer battery pack and electric motors which produce 392 kW (526 bhp / 533 PS) and 880 Nm (649 lb-ft) of torque. That is enough to propel the SLS AMG E-Cell from 0-62 mph in 4.0 seconds, compared to 3.8 seconds in the standard SLS.

The gullwing model accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 4 seconds – which almost puts it on the same high level as the SLS AMG with 6.3-litre V8 engine developing 420 kW (571 hp), which can accelerate to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds.

The SLS AMG E-CELL drive incorporates a liquid-cooled high-voltage lithium-ion battery featuring a modular design with an energy content of 48 kWh and a capacity of 40 Ah. The maximum electric load potential of the battery, which consists of 324 lithium-ion polymer cells, is 480 kW, which is an absolute best value in the automotive sector.

A revised center console has a ten-inch touch-screen infotainment system, which runs audio, climate and navigation functions. The ten-spoke wheels are staggered 19-inch front and 20 inch rear tire wearing 265/35 and 295/30. The Mercedes-Benz AMG SLS E-Cell will make his debut in a production model in 2013, a value of $ 300,000.

PRIOR design presented their latest wide-body kit, the PD-SERIES based on the Mercedes-Benz SL R230. The Prior Design Mercedes-Benz SL R230 comes with a front spoiler with large, greedy air inlets. The cowl with its many air inlets reaches up to the windshield supplying even high-performance motors with sufficient air.

Stuttgart– Mercedes-Benz and McLaren are adding the crowning glory to the model family of their highly successful SLR super sports car with a new, uncompromisingly spectacular car. There is neither a roof nor a windscreen to separate the driver and passenger from the outside world; they enjoy unadulterated high-speed excitement with all the attributes of a speedster.

The new SLR Stirling Moss is also characterised by the most sophisticated technology and a breathtaking design which reinterprets the SLR legend. With 478 kW/650 hp the SLR Stirling Moss accelerates its V8 supercharged engine from standstill to 100 km/h in less than 3.5 seconds, and has a top speed of 350 km/h – no other series-production car is at the same time so open and so fast.

Whilst the 300 SLR earned its spurs on racing circuits the world over, the new member of the SLR family is not designed for the racetrack. Accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in less than 3.5 seconds and with a top speed of 350 km/h this puristic high-performance sports car denotes completely new dimensions in open-top driving. And not just because of the impressive performance figures; every time drivers take to the wheel of the SLR Stirling Moss their senses are addressed with a previously unheard of intensity, conveying a driving experience in its purest and most sensual form. This automotive thoroughbred thus facilitates the kind of open-air feeling that is utterly unique for a road-going vehicle.

Developers working on the Stirling Moss were able to fall back on a wealth of experience gathered when producing the SLR Coupé and Roadster, in particular where the technical base was concerned, with its extravagant carbon-fibre design, high-performance suspension and throaty V8 engine. The common denominator uniting the Stirling Moss with the other members of the SLR family is the aerodynamic concept with a closed underbody and a diffuser in the rear bumper for maximum possible downforce at the rear axle – with one difference: the diffuser here is considerably larger than that on the coupé and roadster.

The new SLR Stirling Moss is the kind of high-calibre speedster coveted by the sporting gentry and enthusiasts alike. At the same time it is a collector’s item which marks the pinnacle of an era and, for the foreseeable future, at least, the final curtain for the SLR. In May 2009 production of the SLR models will cease; only a total of 75 units of the Stirling Moss will be manufactured between June and December 2009, bearing chassis numbers from 1 to 75. Not only does this exclusive vehicle represent the conclusion of the current SLR family; it also serves as a very special thank you to the most loyal of SLR customers, for they are the only ones able to acquire a Stirling Moss.

ASMA Design have modded the Mercedes-Benz McLaren sports cars SLR 722 to their specifications. The new ASMA Design Perfectus SLR 722 is totally redone with new aggressive custom carbon fibre bodywork and 20-inch wheels.

The original SLR only made 650-hp from the 5.4-litre supercharged V8, but this was not enough for ASMA Design, as they have upped the power to 750-hp, and this allows the ASMA Design Perfectus SLR to get from 0-100km/h in only 3.5 seconds, and then go onto a top speed of 216mph.

Making claims of perfection is a dangerous thing to do, especially in the exclusive and demanding world of supercar tuning. But there is one man who can actually make this claim of perfection, and even go as far as to name his incredible automotive creation Perfectus.
